Riverine Flooding & Rising Water Tables Controlled

Little Falls Township sits directly in the Passaic River floodplain — one of the most flood-vulnerable residential environments in Passaic County, where major storm events can raise the water table to within inches of basement floor slabs and where river-driven flooding has inundated entire neighborhoods repeatedly over the decades. Single sump pumps are simply insufficient here; multi-pump systems and interior French drains are baseline requirements, not upgrades.
Homeowners in Little Falls Township face severe moisture issues because of the municipality’s direct proximity to the flood-prone Passaic River. During major local storms, the regional water table rises rapidly rather than gradually, which can overwhelm basic residential drainage systems in just a few hours. This intense groundwater pressure causes severe basement leaks, structural wood rot, and dangerous indoor air quality issues. Our professional crew brings 50 years of combined team experience to engineer high-capacity interior drainage and multi-pump backup systems, keeping your foundation dry even during the toughest New Jersey weather events.

Advanced Interior & Exterior Water Drainage Systems

Interior French Drains

High-capacity interior drainage lines are laid beneath the basement floor to handle the intense, high-volume water delivery typical of local storms. This piping is engineered for the massive Passaic River water table surges in Little Falls, routing groundwater to sump basins before it breaches the slab.
waterproofing icon

Exterior French Drains

We position outdoor curtain drainage lines to capture surface water and route it away from your perimeter. This is crucial in Little Falls where riverine flooding combines with surface sheet flow during major events, pressurizing foundations from both below and outside simultaneously.
waterproofing icon

Channel Drains

Where Little Falls properties feature sloped lots, driveways, or patios that funnel surface runoff toward the structure during Passaic River flood events, our channel drains intercept and redirect that flow before it breaches below-grade entry points.

Total Basement & Foundation Waterproofing Solutions

Basement Waterproofing Services

Applying specialized interior crystalline or membrane sealants establishes an impenetrable moisture barrier directly inside your basement envelope. This provides a critical, necessary complement to mechanical drainage in Little Falls when rising river basin water tables completely overwhelm the capacity of standard sump pumps.
waterproofing icon

Foundation Waterproofing Services

Exterior excavation and rubberized membrane application provides the deepest level of foundation protection for Little Falls homes where repeated flood exposure has saturated foundation masonry and compromised its natural resistance to moisture migration.
waterproofing icon

Masonry Services for Waterproofing

Repeated flood cycles in Little Falls create foundation wall deterioration — efflorescence, spalling, mortar joint erosion — that must be structurally addressed before any waterproofing membrane can provide a lasting barrier. Our masons restore foundation integrity as the foundation of the waterproofing scope, not as an afterthought.

Crawl Space Management, Sump Pumps & Egress Services

Subterranean moisture triggers progressive wood rot and degraded indoor air quality. We permanently stabilize these critical sub-level spaces through professional mechanical and structural upgrades.
waterproofing icon

Crawl Space Encapsulation

We wrap residential crawl spaces in high-mil vapor barriers that prevent the elevated soil moisture present in Little Falls’ floodplain environment from migrating into structural wood members. This system protects vital floor joists and subflooring from chronic moisture exposure that produces rot and mold.

Sump Pumps

In Little Falls, we routinely specify dual primary pumps plus battery backup — a configuration that provides redundant protection during the extended high-volume events that Passaic River flooding produces. When one pump is running at capacity, the second activates; when utility power fails during the storm, the battery backup maintains continuous ejection throughout.

Window Wells & Egress Windows

In a flood-prone township like Little Falls, properly engineered egress windows and drained window wells serve a dual function — providing required emergency egress while ensuring that one of the most common water entry points during flood events is sealed and managed.
Delivering professional masonry reconstruction, safety evaluations, and custom flue relining across Little Falls properties.
From complete roof replacements to storm damage repair — comprehensive protection from above.

Why Choose A1 Everlast for Waterproofing?

Delivering professional waterproofing to Little Falls Township, New Jersey with 50 years of collective experience.
Little Falls is not a community where standard waterproofing approaches are adequate — it is one of the most flood-challenged townships in Passaic County, and the waterproofing systems that protect homes here need to be engineered for the actual flood volumes and water table elevations that Passaic River events produce. A1 Everlast has worked in Little Falls for over 50 years, and that means we have assessed basements after major flood events, identified why standard single-pump systems failed, and designed the multi-pump and interior drain configurations that have kept those same basements dry through subsequent events of equal or greater severity.
Little Falls homeowners consistently find that the investment in properly engineered flood-grade waterproofing — sized for the actual worst-case water table and volume that this township experiences — delivers the certainty that undersized systems cannot provide. Our assessments are specific to each property’s elevation, soil drainage rate, and proximity to the floodplain — not a one-size-fits-all specification. Every project is fully warranted and completed by licensed, insured professionals with same-day and next-day estimates available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about our services.

Why do single sump pumps consistently fail during major Passaic River flooding events in Little Falls?
Single pump failure during Little Falls flood events typically results from one of three causes: the pump’s rated capacity in gallons per hour is insufficient for the volume of groundwater entering through the foundation during peak water table elevation, the pump motor overheats and shuts down after hours of continuous high-load operation, or utility power is lost during the storm and no backup exists. Multi-pump systems address all three — distributing the load between two primary pumps and providing battery backup continuity through power outages. For Little Falls’ most flood-exposed properties, we also specify water-powered backup pumps that operate independently of both grid power and battery capacity.
The Passaic River and its tributaries are in hydrological communication with groundwater throughout the Little Falls floodplain — meaning that when river levels rise significantly, the water table in surrounding soil rises correspondingly, even in properties that are not directly in the river’s overflow path. A basement at an elevation of several feet above the river’s banks can still experience water table rise to within inches of the floor slab during major events, pressurizing the floor-to-wall joint and any existing cracks from below. Interior French drains and sump systems address this sub-slab pressure regardless of whether surface flooding has reached the property.
Flood insurance covers the financial cost of flood damage after it occurs — it does not prevent the damage, the mold initiation that begins within 24 to 48 hours of flooding, the structural deterioration from repeated wetting cycles, or the disruption to your household during remediation. Waterproofing systems prevent the water entry that creates all of these consequences. For Little Falls homeowners, flood insurance and waterproofing serve different functions — insurance manages financial risk, waterproofing eliminates the physical harm that creates that risk. The two are complements, not alternatives.
A complete interior French drain and sump system installation in a standard Little Falls residential basement — approximately 1,000 to 1,500 square feet of perimeter — typically requires two to three days of installation work. This includes saw-cutting the perimeter concrete, excavating the drain trench, installing perforated drain pipe and gravel bed, installing the sump basin and pump system, and finishing the concrete over the drain. For homes requiring dual-pump configurations or larger basements, an additional day is typical. We provide a specific timeline in every Little Falls estimate based on the actual scope of each project.
Annual sump pump testing — confirming pump activation, float switch function, and discharge line clearance — is the most important routine maintenance for Little Falls homeowners. Battery backup units require battery replacement every three to five years depending on the battery type and discharge history. Drain tile systems should be flushed periodically to clear sediment accumulation, typically every three to five years in Little Falls’ soil environment. We provide a specific maintenance schedule with every installation and offer annual inspection services for homeowners who prefer professional monitoring of their system’s readiness before each storm season.

What Our Customers are Saying

Conclusion

From Little Falls Township’s most flood-exposed riverside neighborhoods to its higher-elevation residential sections that still face floodplain water table effects, A1 Everlast engineers waterproofing systems sized for the actual flood conditions this Passaic County community faces — not for average suburban water table conditions that underestimate what Little Falls homeowners experience. Multi-pump systems, high-capacity interior drainage, and vapor-sealed crawl spaces combine into the layered protection that this township’s flood history demands.

Back in 2020 A1 Everlast demo’d my dad’s front stairs and rebuilt a beautiful stone porch & set of stairs in its place. They were a great bunch of guys knowledgeable, kind, quick & skilled. Unfortunately due to the weather & a lot of rain the stairs sustained a little damage. Since my dad passed away in 2024 I reached out to Tim to inquire about the 10yr warranty they had given for their workmanship. I can’t say enough about Tim. He was so apologetic & went to work right away to resolve the problems we were encountering. All while he himself was dealing w/ a private health issue within his family. Thank you Tim for everything I highly recommend A1 Everlast for all concrete and stair/porch work! They are #1

We had a great experience with A1 Everlast. They rebuilt our fireplace box, installed a new liner, and added a new crown, and everything was done with excellent attention to detail. John was especially attentive throughout the process and made everything feel simple and stress-free.

The team was very professional, respectful, and easy to work with. We also really appreciated how quickly they were able to get started—coming out the very next day after inspecting our chimney.

Overall, we’re extremely happy with the quality of the work and would highly recommend A1 Everlast to anyone needing chimney repairs or restoration!

If you are looking for a contracting company that actually delivers on its promises, look no further than A1 Everlast. From start to finish, my experience was nothing short of exceptional, and that is largely thanks to Anthony.
In an industry where it’s hard to find people you can trust, Anthony is a breath of fresh air. His professionalism was evident from our very first meeting; he arrived on time, respected my property, and communicated clearly throughout the entire process. What impressed me most was his depth of knowledge. He didn't just give me a quote; he took the time to explain the technical aspects of the job, offered intelligent solutions for my specific needs, and ensured I understood exactly what was being done and why.
Perhaps most importantly, Anthony operates with a level of honesty that is rare to find. A number of contractors I've come across in my years of being a real estate investor have attempted to fabricate issues just to secure a job to perform. It was intuitively clear to me that after speaking with Anthony this was not the case. His assessment was genuine and tailored to my specific needs. Words cannot explain how pleased and satsified I am in dealing with A1. To many more, thanks Everlast and just as importantly thank you Anthony!

We had Bob come and take a look at our chimney and roof as we are first time home buyers and wanted to ensure the chimney was in working order. we also noticed with our roof a small soft spot on our ceiling that he was able to find out that there was a small portion on our roof that needed some work to stop the issue. He was personable, professional, and ensured that all our questions were answered/ satisfied. 10/10 would recommend giving Bob a call!

Very responsive, professional, and punctual team. I called Anthony in the morning, he was at the house that same afternoon, and had workers on site by 9 a.m. the following day to repair a gas/carbon monoxide leak. He estimated the job would be done by 3 p.m., and it was completed by 1:30. Highly recommend them — 100%.

Chimney repair due to water damage and age. They also installed a new damper. Timmy, Carlos, and Victor were all excellent. They did the job with excellence and they did it quickly. From the time I called to the time they signed the contract was quick, the price was reasonable, and they were just a pleasure to work with. Once we signed the contract, they arrived to do the job as scheduled only days later. They were on time. They were polite and courteous. They did a great job and cleaned up very neatly afterwards. No hassles.
